According to Mauricio Lopez, the commercial manager of the company, the opening of this plant will help disseminate the knowledge regarding the post-harvest treatment of the fruit for export purposes in the region.

“The plant, which has an area of 3,500 m², is equipped with state-of-the-art technology equipment with the capacity to process 18,000 tons of fruit per year, cold rooms, and storage capacity for 10 containers,” Lopez added.

The opening of the packing plant will also bring multiple benefits for the producing area, the farmers, and the economy of the families of Quindio, as it will generate 235 direct and indirect jobs, both in the plant and in the farms, which will improve the quality of life of many families.
