Fresh produce brand Tenderstem Royale® is celebrating being shortlisted for this year’s Fruit Logistica Innovation Award, making the shortlist of the ten best innovations in the fresh produce category in the past twelve months.
The awards, which will take place this February in Berlin, celebrate innovation in the fruit and vegetable category supply chain. Tenderstem Royale® was selected as a finalist from all the nominations by a panel of industry experts. The overall winner will be determined by the votes of visitors to Fruit Logistica.
Tenderstem Royale® is a brand extension of the best-selling brassica, Tenderstem® broccoli, which is the number 2, leading fresh produce brand in the UK. Following the huge success of Tenderstem®, fresh produce marketing specialists Coregeo® launched Tenderstem Royale® in early 2019 in M&S. The product was developed to offer consumers a new variety of brassica, recognising the demand for new and innovative vegetable varieties that offer a balance of flavours, no prep time and which are easy to cook.
The new variety was developed by Sakata Vegetables Europe, specialists in the research, production and distribution of vegetable seeds. The business majors on innovation in the vegetable seed business and was a key player in the introduction of Tenderstem® to the UK market more than a decade ago.
Lacey Bradshaw, marketing manager for the Tenderstem® brand said: “We are absolutely delighted that Tenderstem Royale® has been shortlisted at this year’s Fruit Logistica Innovation Awards. The popularity of speciality veg continues to grow year on year and the nomination has been announced at an exciting time, as we prepare the brand for new listings.”
Tenderstem Royale® is currently sold at M&S in 180g packs and is available all year round.
