With the Spring Festival around the corner, people in China are in the middle of stocking up for the holiday. In South America, on the other side of the ocean, a group of people are also energetically preparing for the Chinese New Year. They are suppliers of Chilean cherries to be sold on JD Fresh.
In recent years, Chile's cherry exports to China have increased significantly. Taking JD.com as an example, from January 1st to 14th, JD Fresh’s Chilean cherry sales have achieved year-on-year growth of over 450%. From January 1st to 7th,7FRESH, JD.com’s offline supermarkets, saw very strong sales. The orders of J-grade Chilean cherries increased by more than 14 times compared with the same period last year.
In order to provide consumers with more targeted and refined service, JD Fresh and the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association also jointly launched a new package offering Chilean cherries and blueberries. Different from the large-sized gift box for family consumption, this combination fully takes the consumption needs of young white-collar workers and migrant workers into consideration, which not only fits the current fast-purchase lifestyle but is affordable and allows for diversified choices. This new package reduces consumers’ costs in trying out new products and thus drives them to make up their minds when making orders.
