“At a time when the world's organic production generates over 92,000 million Euro, the opening to the Japanese market for operators in Spain and Latin America (through the JAS certification) appears to be a unique opportunity for growth,” says CAAE certification director Juan Manuel Sánchez Adame.
Indeed, the Government of Japan, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, has just authorized CAAE to certify under the JAS standard, thereby allowing the marketing of organic products in the Japanese market. Thus, this certification entity has become the only company in Spain to have this authorization.
The JAS (Japanese Agriculture Standards) organic certification applies to agricultural producers and industries devoted to the processing, packaging or labeling of the products they export to Japan.
“We are committed to offering organic producers in Spain and in any part of the world the possibility of reaching new international markets. Obtaining this authorization is an important milestone for CAAE, since we are the only entity in our country that can certify organic products that are to be shipped to the Japanese market,” says Juan Manuel Sánchez.
CAAE is a leader in Europe, with more than one million certified hectares, and is expanding internationally, mainly in Latin America, but also in Africa and Asia.
It is also the leading organic certification entity in Spain, as well as the only one in the country to be accredited by the European Commission for third countries, by the US Government for the NOP and by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry of the Government of Japan for the JAS. With a global focus on the organic world, it offers certifications that cover all the sector's needs, including organic food, food safety, supplies, cosmetics, organic gardening, restoration and trade or vegan certifications.
