First volumes exported to China

Vietnamese real estate giant investing in banana growing

On December 30, the Khmer Times, a Cambodian new paper, reported that the building of Agrico banana packing factory, a subsidiary of HAGL Group, was complete, and it has exported its first products to China to meet the increasing demand in this market.

HAGL Group, once one of the largest real estate companies in Vietnam, has been restructuring since 2010 and has been increasing its investment in agriculture in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Agrico has an acreage of up to 18,000 hectares located in the Gongmon County in the northeastern part of Cambodia bordering Laos, at a value of about $ 400 million, growing fruits including bananas.

After being shipped to ports in Vietnam, Agrico's products can be shipped to markets such as Beijing, Dalian, and Shanghai within a week. Ruan Guanying of Agrico said that the company grows 7,000 hectares of bananas in ecosystems formed by the use of agricultural technology in planting, growing, and irrigation from Israel. Among them, 3000 hectares have entered the harvest season.
