Currently, solutions with banderoles are not only used in the food industry, but also in many other sectors. At this year's Fruit Logistica, project Service & Produktion LLC will be present for the first time and the company will present the new PROBA
ND V process to the trade public. This new banding system is said to offer a tailor-made solution for the entire product range and can be seamlessly integrated into existing machine equipment - from stand-alone machines to fully automated individual solutions.
Environmentally friendly packaging with recyclable materials
In essence, a banderole is the simplest form of packaging. However, the materials must match the product to be packed. The banderoles from project Service & Produktion LLC will meet the most diverse quality requirements, whether made of paper or plastic, whether printed with up to 12 colours or unprinted. They are available in standard widths from 20 to 120 mm and the rolls themselves can be up to 1700 m long. Of course, in any situation, the quality of the banderoles is decisive for an efficient packaging process.
Unique quick change frame
The special feature of the PROBAND V is the innovative quick-change frame, according to a spokesperson of the company. "The frames are designed so that different band widths (25-60 mm) can be processed with only one frame. Depending on the product range, we offer our customers the right frame. Due to the easy handling (with colored touch panel) a change of the frames can be done within seconds. Welding of different strip thicknesses using ultrasonic welding is also possible, with only one frame."
Application examples for fruit and vegetables
The PROBAND V system is suitable for a wide range of fresh products, says a company spokesperson: "Zucchinis, leeks and cucumbers, for example, are already among the standard banded products available on the market. At present, we are increasingly offering apples, which are otherwise marketed in a tray, in banded wing trays instead. In addition, we are already in a position to offer banderoles with a plastic percentage of less than 5 percent. Any eventual waste material can be disposed of in the paper bin."
Exhibition highlight: Fully automated stand-alone solution
project Service & Production has grown up with special solutions for the beverage industry. The banding solution for fruit and vegetables was developed last year as an alternative to the conventional heat sealing processes. The vertical banding process PROBAND V is already in use, but the fully automated stand-alone solution will be demonstrated for the first time in Berlin. In addition, the PROBAND V has been nominated for the Fruit Logisitca Innovation Award, which is chosen by the visitors and presented at the end of the fair.
