Sales of yello®, which starts the new season with a crop of about 600 tonnes, began on 27 November. After the "sold out" achieved in February 2019, well ahead of forecasts, this year the new yellow-skin apple is on the starting blocks with larger quantities and renewed potentials. The promotion and sampling activities in stores and fruit and vegetable markets, with the distribution of informative material, will be repeated this season.
The Japanese Shinano Gold variety, with a sweet flavour, an exotic fragrance and firm, juicy flesh, is grown exclusively by VOG and VI.P for Italy and the Mediterranean basin. After last year's good performances and the positive response from consumers, yello® has impressive growth potential for the upcoming season.
