In November the Chinese Mushroom Days took place in Zhangzhou, an important production place for mushrooms in China. Besides Chinese companies, other international companies were also present from the Netherlands, India, US, Thailand and Poland etc. During this event, several industry meetings, forums and lectures were organized.
One of the speakers was Stefan Dagevos from RibbStyle, who spoke about their vapour tight tunnels and rooms. About the event he said: “Last week we visited the Chinese Mushroom Days, where we entered into conversation with many potential customers from this industry. Together with Mushroom Valley and Mush Comb we had nice discussions and a lot of interest. We have joined this event for several years now and this year the attendance was quite good. The first few days was quite busy, so we've seen a very good development throughout the years. The mushroom industry in China is also quickly growing.”

Another difference is the language, in order to have smooth communication in China, we have our own Chinese sales agent. When we are not able to come ourselves, he takes care of the whole application process in China. Furthermore, our Chinese agent will also help to inspect the different projects, before and after the application of the coating. This is necessary, because the whole surface needs to be clean, without stains and cracks, and the building material needs to be of high quality, otherwise the coating cannot be applied well.”
Besides mushrooms, RibbStyle also provided coatings for the cold storage rooms of apples in China. “A lot of people are not aware yet of the importance of a good coating in the agriculture industry.
