Thermologistic is expanding its trailer fleet. This is the Frankfurt refrigerated logistics company's response to the strong demand for temperature-controlled transport. The new investment comprises 13 trailers of the latest design. The new units are equipped with double-decker technology and roller beds and some of them also have partition walls for bi-tempered transports. The trailers are also equipped with a GPS transmitter.
The new acquisition will increase Thermologistic's fleet to a total of 40 vehicles, which will be transported nationally and internationally by partner service providers. The investment amounts to around 800,000 euros. In addition, the company is creating two new jobs at the cargo center of Frankfurt Airport.
With the expansion of its fleet, Thermologistic is meeting the requirements of the growing market for combined air freight transport. The trailers equipped with roller beds guarantee high flexibility and fast loading and unloading of temperature-controlled air freight. This is particularly important for perishable goods such as fruit, vegetables, meat or medicines. The handling and handling times, for example at the Perishable Center at Frankfurt Airport, are considerably reduced by the vehicles specially equipped for air freight traffic.
Fleet expansion
"With the new optimised trailers we will be even faster and more efficient. Only by expanding our fleet will we be able to meet the high demands of our customers as traffic density increases," says Bernd Schmied, Managing Director of Thermologistic. With the fleet expansion, the carrier also wants to improve its market position. The company, which is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and IFS Logistics, expects an increase in turnover and profit of around 50 percent.
Handling of all transport services
Thermologistic Frankfurt LLC was founded in 2018. The headquarters of the logistics company with the focus on air-conditioned transports is at Frankfurt Airport with a direct connection to the Perishable Center Frankfurt. Thermologistic specialises in the organisation and handling of all transport services for perishable goods in the so-called cross-docking business. With its own fleet of vehicles and selected partner companies, Thermologistic offers, among other things, Europe-wide air freight replacement services.
