Colder weather may stimulate banana trade

Recently banana prices have fluctuated in Chinese production areas, and the overall market is weak. Crops in some production centers are affected by the cold weather, and some are at the end of the market season, so the quality is unstable. The slump in the consumer market has resulted in fewer traders, less active shipping, and slower movements. The volume of imported bananas, which have an edge in prices and quality, has gradually increased.

Currently, a large number of seasonal fruits such as citrus and apples have started to flood into the market. They have a great impact on banana sales, but prices of good quality supplies are still firm. In the near future, with the coming cold weather, traders are expected to start stockpiling lest the bananas are damaged. The number of traders should then increase and the market will stabilize.
