According to data published by cbbc.iqonsulting.com, 2,638 tons of fresh blueberries were exported during week 47, accumulating a total of 7,045 tons to date, 29% more than the previous season at the same week. Organic blueberries meanwhile, present an accumulated of 2,619 tons, a 103% increase over last season.
Of the total exported on week 47, 92% were sea freights, mainly through the port of San Antonio. This week (48), some ports joined the national strike scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, which led to delays in departures. However, the shipment activity was restarted on Wednesday and currently ports are working without major setbacks.
Regarding the destination markets, North America leads with a 68% share of exports to date, the Far East with 20% and Europe with 13%.
