Ringoplast presents a new berry crate at expoSE

"Many asparagus growers are building up a second mainstay by growing berries"

Reusable containers are becoming increasingly important in the fruit and vegetable industry. Food-safe crates made of PE or PP should be a sustainable alternative for disposable solutions. In order to meet this demand in the constantly growing soft fruit market, Ringoplast LLC presented its new reusable storage and transport containers at this year's expoSE.

Manuel Hangbers, from the company's sales department, presents the boxes: "Our containers are characterised by their fine, slotted openings, which have various advantages. On the one hand, they prevent the berries from crushing, ensuring a gentle storage. In addition, the many openings ensure perfect air circulation and cooling of the fruit in the container". Originally this box was developed for the storage of blueberries in cold stores, but it is also very suitable for other soft fruits. "With this box, we offer a solution for storing loose berries for a longer period of time. The boxes are manufactured in Germany (at the site in Ringe) and have been in the product range for several months, but made their trade fair debut at expoSE.

Hangbers notes that there is growing interest in suitable reusable solutions for all parts of the supply chain, especially for soft fruit. "Berries are clearly a trend product but are also important in combination with asparagus. In order to compensate for possible losses due to low prices or poor harvests, many asparagus growers are building up a second mainstay by growing berries". This trend can be seen not only in Germany, but worldwide.

Ringoplast is a long-established supporter of expoSE in Karlsruhe: "We have had a stand for 22 years. The fair is very important for us and we wouldn't want to miss it." They were very satisfied with the discussions and met both existing customers and new interested parties during the event. "The audience is very balanced. The asparagus sector is special because there are many trade fairs on the subject. The majority of our customers are contacts we made at trade fairs, especially expoSE".
