Market supply for the later period abundant

Vegetable prices at Beijing Xinfadi Market rose slightly last week

According to the manager of the Beijing Xinfadi Market, the weighted average price of vegetables in the Market on November 22 was 2.04 yuan/kg, 3.03% higher than the 1.98 yuan/kg at the same time last week (November 15) and 15.25% higher than the 1.77 yuan/kg last year. Prices rose slightly week on week while presenting significant rises year-on-year.

The temperature dropped significantly last weekend, and prices went up slightly in the middle of this week, with the overall price being significantly higher than the same period last year. Vegetable prices showed a slow upward trend last week. The prices of most vegetables remained stable while those of certain vegetables fluctuated, which is a normal phenomenon.

The weighted average price of vegetables has increased this week, mainly due to the fact that the vegetables grown in northern China are currently produced in greenhouses and the cost has increased significantly. Prices of these vegetables have generally increased from the previous week. Affected by supplies from the southern parts of China coming onto the market, prices of some varieties have also fallen.
