Police drones monitoring citrus campaign in Spanish town of Nules

Last week, the Local Police of Nules launched an aerial surveillance operation in the municipality, using drones to ensure the safety of agricultural plots now that the citrus campaign is in full swing.

This new service, with which the municipality has become a pioneer in the province, will serve as aid to the patrols of the Rural Ecological Unit.

Mayor David García said that "the drones make it possible to monitor large areas in a short time, reaching every corner of the orchards, even the most hidden, which is where most thefts usually occur." Suspicious movements are identified from the air and the Rural Unit's land agents are in charge of confirming any on-going incidents.
