Compared to their performance in October 2018, the banana exporters operating in Cameroon were more dynamic in October 2019. According to data compiled by the country’s banana exporters’ association Assobacam, they exported 15,953 tons of banana in October 2019.
Compared with the 15,292 tons of banana the country exported in October 2018, this volume is up 661 tons.
In detail, exports from Plantations du Haut Penja (PHP), a subsidiary of French company Compagnie fruitière, increased by 390 tons (from 14,305 tons in October 2018 to 14,695 tons). The same increase is noticed in the exports of Boh Plantations, the smallest operator in the Cameroonian banana market. According to Assobacam, it exported 1,258 tons of banana in October 2019, up from 987 tons in October 2018 (an increase by 271 tons).
