Carl Philipp Tenge-Rietberg on the automation solutions of Tenrit Foodtec Maschinenbau GmbH:

"Automated solutions to the labor shortage and increased labor costs"

"We are the pioneers in the field of asparagus peeling machines. My grandfather developed the asparagus peeling machine, together with a farmer and a university in the 1990s to create the today's famous asparagus peeling machine," says Carl Philipp Tenge-Rietberg,  managing director and sales manager of TENRIT Foodtec Mechanical Engineering LLC.

Since then, a lot has changed: the technology has matured, process reliability and peeling results have improved. "Today, we can supply a product that is superior to hand-peeled asparagus, and we can also offer process lines to major industrial users, from feeding, to peeling and draining, to cutting to length or to pieces: All these options are now available automatically from TENRIT."

The focus of the upcoming ExpoSE will certainly be on further automation, believes Tenge-Rietberg. "Machine peeling is already an automation, but also surrounding steps are to be further developed." Supply and discharge are becoming increasingly automated, in line with the important topics in the industry: "Because of the labor shortage, the increase in bureaucracy and the increased labor costs, farmers and traders are increasingly looking to save manpower or to use more efficiently their personnel. This should be able to be used exactly where it is needed and it adds value. " TENRIT would like to show these improvements to its existing and new customers at this year's ExpoSE.

The roots of today's company go back to the year 1842, says the managing director: "Since then, we have been involved in mechanical engineering." Innovation spirit and mechanical engineering passion have always been part of our program. " Today, TENRIT machines are found everywhere in the world, where asparagus is grown and processed. In addition to asparagus solutions, the company also produces peeling and cutting solutions for other fruits and vegetables. "Today, we have an extensive dealer network of more than 35 partners, representing our products from the West Coast of the United States to Japan."
