The trend of rising prices is strengthening on the Ukrainian apple market. The demand from large wholesale companies and retail chains continues to grow, so apple producers are managing to push prices upward, said EastFruit project analysts.
At the moment, producers in Ukraine are offering their apples for between 9 and 15 UAH / kg ($ 0.36-0.61 / kg), which is on average 13% more expensive than at the end of the previous working week.
The reason for this pricing situation is the still rather limited availability in the market. In fact, many producers have already announced the actual completion of the sale of autumn varieties. At the same time, according to producers, there is a consistently high demand from wholesale companies and retail chains.
It is worth noting that, at the moment, Ukrainian apples are on average 2.4 times more expensive than in the same period last year. At the end of October 2018, the price of these products in Ukraine did not exceed 8 UAH / kg ($ 0.32 / kg).
