Orogel News reported that the final stage to bring the temperature of the new large storage unit to -25°C is proceeding smoothly. The facility, known as Orogel 3, is located in Cesena not far from the company headquarters.
"Everything is going as planned and the temperature will be reached in 35 days. We are checking the tightness and adaptation of all mechanical and cooling components," reports manager Valter Zino.
Building operations are almost over and the first frozen products should be introduced around mid-November. The warehouse is entirely automatic and covers 7,800 square meters (approximately 230 thousand cubic meters). It can store 35 thousand tons of frozen produce.
Then a suspended tunnel around 130 meters long will be built to link Orogel 2 to Orogel 3. The design won the Tekla BimAwards 2019 for the technological solutions adopted.
