Kühling Fruchthandel presents expanded packaging range at ExpoSE 2019

"GeschmacksTRESOR 2.0 is ideal for food retailers and farm shops"

The GeschmacksTRESOR  was one of the most important eye-catchers at last year's ExpoSE: After the 'clever' packaging solution for peeled asparagus was presented for the first time, the response was tremendous, the management of the license-carrying company Kühling Fruchthandel confirms. Now the next step is imminent: exactly one year after the official launch, the family-owned company from Emstek presents the optimized version of the new packaging concept.

Lena Kühling presented the GeschmacksTRESOR for the first time at the ExpoSE 2018.

GeschmacksTRESOR 2.0
The idea behind the packaging alternative is still to provide the asparagus sector with a meaningful packaging alternative, which takes equally into account both the quality requirements of the producer and the environmental requirements of the customers. In principle, the concept remained the same: the peeled asparagus can be welded into a special paper. In this way, the direct marketer or trader can be compared to the provide customers with long-lasting freshness. The solution ultimately brings less plastic waste with both peeled and unpeeled asparagus, for example, compared to conventional sealed boxes. In addition to this, the GeschmacksTRESOR is cheaper by comparison and the space-saving storage of packaging is guaranteed.

Nevertheless, after a survey of producers who have tested and used the GeschmacksTRESOR in daily use, some improvements were implemented. First, the speed of the process has been significantly optimized: In addition to the revised design, it is now possible to weld-bond the asparagus packaging in about 2 seconds. "The new packaging for peeled asparagus, with a viewing window, now make the solution even better for marketing in the food retail or farm shop." "We also have new accessories: We designed a bag holder for easier handling and a revised bag support to further improve the process," said Lena Kühling from Kühling Fruchthandel. "We are pleased to present the new products," says Kühling. "At the expoSE, there will be attractive trade fair offers again this year."

Folding baskets are particularly suitable for stone and berry fruits.

Folding baskets & cardboard trays
In addition to the optimized GeschmacksTRESOR, the family-owned company based in the Oldenburger Münsterland will also be bringing two other new packaging products to the fair. New folding baskets made of 100% paper are to be presented. This environmentally friendly packaging alternative is initially available in the standard sizes 1.0 to 2.5 kg and has sturdy handles, made of cardboard. The concept not only offers the customer multiple benefits, but also makes it an excellent advertising medium, explains Ms. Kühling. "The entire basket including handle is individually printable according to customer requirements. But thanks to the optimized dimensions of the new 1 kg baskets, the solution also ensures a perfect fit in 60x40 boxes."

Finally, the company will present a third packaging form, namely cardboard trays in a new design. These are already established carton shells in vintage style, confirms Ms. Kühling on request. "After the great feedback from the season 2019, we have included the item as a standard variant in the range." The popular sizes 500g and 250g are now always in stock, in addition, the 125g to 1,000 g boxes are individually ordered. Completely new in the assortment are also 200g and 400g shells made of corrugated board.

Folding baskets fit perfectly in 60x40 cm crates.
