Andrea Schöni (Schöni Swissfresh) on this year's sauerkraut season in Switzerland

"Good season start in late September, although cabbages came rather late this year"

At the Schöni company in Swiss Oberaargau, people are quite busy, currently: 2019 sauerkraut production is on. In addition to this traditional product, they also work with other foods and new creations: Managing Director Andrea Schöni talks to the Solothurner Zeitung on 'Superfood'.

"It's going pretty well for us at present," says Andrea Schöni,  managing director of the known as Sauerkrautfabrik company Schöni in Oberbipp since last year. "We got off to a good start to the season at the end of September, though the cabbages were a bit late this year due to the rather sparse rainfall that only started in late summer, so Chabis, Red Cabbage and Randen did not grow that fast."

Nevertheless, it is a good harvest this year, and the company is very satisfied with the quality.
