New York apple grower to sponsor TCS New York City Marathon for 22nd year

The TCS New York City Marathon will again partner with New York Apple Association (NYAA) as this year’s official sponsor to provide New York state-grown apples at the finish line, at several related events, and to race volunteers.  As an official sponsor, NYAA will provide over 58,000 locally grown apples for the TCS New York City Marathon and an additional 21,500 locally grown apples for the race week events.

“This is the 22nd year NYAA is sponsoring the TCS New York City Marathon, and we look forward to this event every year,” stated NYA President Cynthia Haskins. “Our state is one of the largest growers of apples in the country and with the TCS New York City Marathon in our backyard, it is a great partnership,” said Haskins.

The TCS New York City Marathon is set for Sunday, Nov. 3.  More than 50,000 people from across the state, the country and around the world are expected to finish. The marathon is the premier event of New York Road Runners. NYAA also plans to sponsor 15 runners including New York state apple growers, and members of the Rochester, N.Y., area police and fire departments.

This year Cailin Kowalewski, Account Manager for NYAA, along with Doug Grout, NYAA board of director and apple grower, brothers David Grout (residing in Russia) and Derek Grout also an apple grower, and their mom Jayne Zinke, a seasoned marathoner, will be running in this year’s TCS New York City Marathon.

NYAA materials urge ‘Health to the Core’ in the marathon virtual goodie bag, ‘Love a Strong Finish’ ad in the marathon program, a fresh New York grown apple in the Runner Recovery Bag that is received by all runners, and an ad in the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon Official Results Magazine.
