Peruvian CEO was special guest at World Summit of Female Leadership

For her unyielding commitment to promoting gender equity and for her outstanding career, Rosario Bazán de Arangurí, Danper’s founder and CEO, was present as a special guest at the panel of the international Gender Lens Investing in Practice forum, organized by four major global organizations of international development funds: Global Development Center (CGD), United Kingdom Financial Development Institute (CDC Group), Canada Development Fund (FinDev) and US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

The international Gender Lens Investing in Practice forum was held on October 18, 2019 at the CGD headquarters in Washington (United States), and aimed to support women's leadership, improve the quality of work and promote greater economic opportunities.

Rosario Bazán shared her experience as CEO of the first Peruvian company to earn EDGE certification in Gender Equity. For the past 25 years, Danper has been at the forefront of the agribusiness sector for its quality, innovation and sustainable commitment. These strengths have led the company to be regarded today as a leader in corporate responsibility and sustainability practices, and a pioneer in the Latin American region for its various social, economic and environmental programs.

“A company should not only be characterized by the quality of its products and its high competitiveness, but mainly for the quality of its people and its integrity, for its fair and equitable treatment, for empowering its women and, above all, for raising the quality of life of its workers, families and communities. That is why I consider it a great opportunity to participate in this panel to share my reflections on the role of entrepreneurs in the transformation of our society and the opportunities we offer to empower women,” said Danper’s founder.

The forum brought together representative business leaders−such as Priya Krishnan, founder and CEO of Klay, and Viola Llewellyn, co-founder and president of Ovamba Solutions− who will share different alternatives for the development of women in society and the search for new opportunities in the business sector.

The event will cater to an audience of international development professionals, NGOs, academic institutions, investors, subject expert groups and government representatives.

The three businesswomen will share their experience of success, how it contributes to the development of women’s empowerment and how this can translate into improved company productivity.
