Pharr Bridge: $1.8 million of meth hidden among tomatoes

Last week, Customs and Border Protection officers at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge seized $1,800,000 worth of meth that was intended to be smuggled into the country.

On Thursday, a commercial truck transporting fresh tomatoes arrived from Mexico with 17 packages of alleged methamphetamine hidden inside a tire. The drugs weighed a total of 88 pounds. The case remains under investigation.
