Producer Matteo Dalpiaz reports that Fuji apple quality is high when it comes to both flavor and color and that volumes are in line with expectations. His business is located in Val di Non (Trento), around 600 m asl.

"There are around 10 hectares of apple orchards, most of which we own, while the rest is rented. It is quite a considerable area to be handled by a single company. We finished harvesting the Golden variety a few days ago. We were busy day and night, but are pleased with the outcome."

This year, the color of Fuji apples is practically perfect thanks to the temperature range of the past few weeks. "Color and flavor are essential when it comes to this variety, while I think grade comes in third place. Yields are good and my orchards have a classic layout: 0.75 meters between trees and 3 meters between rows."
65% of the 10 hectares are of the Golden variety, 15% is Gala and the remaining part is for Renetta, Stark, Evelina and Fuki. There was no hail this year, so yields were high. "The brown marmorated stink bug mainly affected the Stark variety, for which I have estimated a 20% damage."

His son Maurizio also works for the company, while his other son Fabiano is still studying. His wife Vittoria is the soul of Agritur Le Pergolette, part of Melinda's farm tourism circuit.

"The agritourism gives us the chance to meet a lot of people. We show them what it means to work in the countryside and try to convey our passion for the local territory and productions. Our guests often become our friends and come back to see us."
