Eric Lagache, KINOBÉ Group:

"Avocado prices will probably remain high until end of the year”

This year, the avocado market is characterized by a strong demand and a relatively weak offer. For Eric Lagache, CEO of KINOBÉ Group, the situation is likely to persist for some time. “The upcoming arrival of the Spanish avocados should not have any significant influence on the market. We are currently selling our shipments at extremely high prices given that the offer is inferior to the demand, and this will probably be the case until the end of the year.”

But according to Eric Lagache, in such a situation, it is important to make sure that prices do not exceed the maximum threshold that consumers are willing to pay. “There can always be punctual events bringing prices down during a campaign but globally, the price curve stays upward. The situation is delicate for all the actors of the sector in France, who must ensure that the final consumer prices do not paradoxically slow down consumption. We must know the limits, our clients help us exercise caution.”

Eric Lagache thinks that this market is in full expansion, despite a growing offer. It will struggle for a few years still to satisfy the demand, which is also growing. “For now, we have an upstream developing structurally, and although Europe will remain a favored target, the global demand will also increase. We can easily imagine that markets such as China and India will be highly interested and more present tomorrow than they are today.”

KINOBÉ Group: first time at Fruit Attraction
This year is the first time that KINOBÉ Group will attend the fair in Madrid as an exhibitor. “For this edition, we decided to formalize our presence at Fruit Attraction, because the event keeps getting bigger. It is increasingly appreciated in terms of calendar. Today, it is an excellent place to meet with our clients and suppliers. This decision also allows us to strengthen our communication about what we already are and what we want to continue to do. For this occasion, we wish to take the time to present our companies, our projects, our specificities, our various professions and our positions. We are very glad to be present this year.”

The participation of KINOBÉ Group is part of the company’s desire to rethink its communication strategy. For Eric Lagache, Madrid also is the opportunity to present the group’s new graphic charter. Additionally, the company plans to increase its visibility on social networks, for even more proximity with its clients and suppliers.

About KINOBÉ Group
Today, KINOBÉ Group is made of 3 commercial structures and a logistics entity.

NOSIBÉ, created in 2002, focuses its activities mainly on marketing and on the packaging of citrus fruits imported from overseas (Israel, Af., Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt…), as well as avocados from all origins. Other products are also offered to satisfy the clientele, mostly in the “large distribution”.

As for KISSAO, it offers exclusively a very large exotic range and distributes it throughout France, mainly to the “large distribution”. Its logistics structure, Nosao, located in Marseille (43,056 square feet), is strictly dedicated to the ripening, packaging, storing and preparation of orders.

Finally, N&K, located in Ridderkerk, imports mostly citrus fruits, avocados, grapes, blueberries, lychees, pomegranates and limes to then sell them in European countries. The activity of this recent structure is growing very rapidly.

In addition to nice projects being developed within the group, the four entities together should reach 90 million euros [99 million USD] in revenue this year.
