Price of black-eyed beans shows overall decline in China

The current wholesale price of black-eyed beans in Chinese wholesale markets is around 1.50-2.80 yuan [0.21-0.39 USD] per 0.5 kg. Last year the price was around 2.40-3.00 yuan [0.34-0.42 USD] per 0.5 kg. That is a decline of 38.89%.

The black-eyed beans currently on the market mainly come from Ji county in Tianjian and Langfang, Yongqing, and Baoding in Hebei.

The mid-season black-eyed beans from Hepu in Guangxi have also entered the market. The price is relatively low this year because the price has been high in recent years and many farmers significantly expanded the surface area devoted to black-eyed bean plantation. The price began to fall in May this year as a result of this expansion.
