It was a good harvest for the Migo® pear. The good yield means there are plenty of pears available to meet the fast-growing consumer demand for this user-friendly variety, which is as easy to bite into as an apple.
Migo®, which was introduced in 2016, will be sold this season in a.o. Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Scandinavia and Great Britain. The brand will once again receive optimal support with an extensive marketing program including in-store demonstrations, a road show with the Migo® Food truck, a radio campaign, social media and on-/offline PR.
Under the motto ‘Let’s smile together,’ Migo® has again linked up with several charities in the Benelux this year. Migo® will therefore support the CliniClowns organization in Belgium and thus help put a precious smile onto the face of sick children. In the Netherlands it has chosen to support the Tour de Dumoulin Foundation, which aims to encourage young people to exercise.
This new season, Migo® is also available in entirely plastic-free, carton packaging. This emphasizes Migo®'s friendly image and responds to the wishes of retailers and consumers to use less plastic.
Migo® is currently grown by producers from the three GKE partners: FruitMasters (the Netherlands), BelOrta (Belgium) and Württembergische Obstgenossenschaft (marketing via Obst vom Bodensee Vertriebsgesellschaft, Germany). The Migo® pear is on sale this October in various leading supermarkets.
