Local schools in South Carolina receive donated fruits and vegetables

WP Rawl has announced it donated over 350 bags of fresh produce to four local schools in their surrounding communities this September.

This is the second year the company partnered with their local school district to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to children and families in need in their communities. Children received reusable drawstring bags full of produce such as Collard greens, kale salad, green onions, zucchini, bananas, oranges and peaches. Employees of WP Rawl hand delivered the bags to specific schools receiving the weekly donations.

The fresh produce donations are part of a larger internal marketing strategy known to WP Rawl employees as “I am Rawl.” Throughout the year, the I am Rawl committee along with leadership team members meet with each department within the organization to participate in fun interactive educational activities that focus on one or more of the company’s core values. This past September, the company said it focused on Social Responsibility and Sustainability. Each department was able to participate in filling the reusable bags with fresh produce for the children and families in need.

“We are thankful to have the ability to donate fresh produce to those in need in our surrounding areas. Each year the activity of putting together the fresh produce bags is listed as a favorite among our employees,” said Ashley Rawl, vice president of sales, marketing and product development. “Supporting the communities in which we operate is a very important part of our companies’ vision.”
