Spanish berry processing company receives the 2019 Internationalization Award

In 2018, Hudisa processed more than 20 million kilos of berries, and out of that volume, 70% was exported. Having reached more than 30 countries, Hudisa's international business has been growing steadily. Since 2015, it has seen its turnover in foreign markets increase by 14.23%, and in non-EU countries by 70-90%. This, together with the company's reputation and the efforts made to open new markets, are some of the aspects that the jury of the Pymes Huelva 2019 awards has taken into account to award the prize in this edition.

Hudisa started its activity in 2002 following the merger of Lepe's 19 most important berry cooperatives, with vertical integration and betting on the transformation of industrial fruit.

Hudisa processes and markets purees, concentrates and frozen strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries and works in three different product lines, namely conventional, Babyfood and Organic. Today it is the leading company in southern Europe in terms of quantity of processed red fruits, with a productive potential of more than 20 million kilos / year. Some of its shareholders are the biggest cooperatives producing red fruits, which bring together more than 1,000 growers who look after their fruits with the utmost care.

Antonio Tirado, president of Hudisa, said that "we are a company in which quality is the basic element when it comes to product differentiation, and this is possible thanks to the commitment and the high degree of qualification of our producers, as well as the effort of everyone involved in Hudisa.” Tirado also highlights "the considerable material and technological resources invested in order to meet the expectations and demands of our customers across the world."

Hudisa also has the most demanding industrial process certifications, such as FSSC 22,000, Kosher, Halal and CAAE, which allow them to market their products to large multinationals in the food sector, while ensuring food safety.
