“Let's not make a big thing of our first five-year anniversary," says Peter Stuurman, of 4Mex Logistics. “We simply do our work, and we do it well." This Dutch company was started in September 2014. In July 2015, it was bought by Stuurman Storage BV. Peter is this company's director and majority shareholder.
“Our charter office specializes in arranging return loads of refrigerated or frozen truckloads from France to the other EU countries. Most of our clients are, therefore, French exporters and forwarders and German importers. When we started, we included Italy. But, we have since decided to specialize more on the French road transport market."
"France has complicated legislation, long queues, strikes, and blockades. This does not make it the easiest country to drive through. Our six-man team, however, has a great deal of experience in the sector. They speak their language, so we can offer the service our clients need," says Stuurman.
"In 2015, we also had to move to a new location in Krimpen aan de IJssel. Our feet are just about dangling in the Hollandsche IJssel's water, where the ships pass by every day."
“We demand high standards from our staff, and they have to have experience in the industry. We also want them to be able to speak French, German, and English. These criteria sometimes make it difficult to find people. We often see that people have one or the other, but not all of it."
"But, we are now considering hiring young talent. These people can then get the experience they need from within the company," Peter concludes.
