The peak period of the Chinese grape harvest took place in the last few months. Market conditions are different for each grape variety, but the overall market shows excellent retail conditions for green grape varieties.
One of the most popular grape varieties in the Chinese market is the Sunshine Rose grape. A number of grape varieties currently enter the Chinese market one after the other.
Mr. Zeng of Shaanxi HoVo Import & Export Co., Ltd. provided an overview of the current condition of the Chinese grape market: "The production season of Green Globe grapes already finished. The production volume was quite large this year, so the price at the end of the season was quite low. We still have some Green Globe grapes left in storage to meet the market demand in the next few years. We expect the market price of Green Globe grapes to slightly rise as the supply volume continues to decrease."
The production season of Red Globe grapes in Xinjiang is currently in full swing. According to Mr. Zeng: "Earlier this month we began to push Red Globe grapes from Xinjiang onto the Chinese market. The production season of Red Globe grapes continues until October. People are not entirely happy with the price development of Red Globe grapes, but that is because we are in the peak supply period. The price shows a downward trend and is unlikely to reverse in the short term because the supply continues to grow. The overall conditions in the Chinese grape market show that production volumes of most grape varieties increased. This is an abundant year for Chinese grapes."
Mr. Zeng further explained that domestic and international grapes all compete. This competition grows more intense every year because people in the industry work hard to raise product quality and expand production volume. HoVo Import & Export mainly exports grapes to Southeast Asia, but simultaneously explores possibilities in other markets and is always open for new cooperation opportunities.
