For the very first time, a Polish company has received the PlanetProof certification. After the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium and Germany already had various companies go for the special certification, this time it’s the Springfresh Group’s turn to shine.
The Springfresh Group is an onion processor based in Poland, although they also work with a variety of other fruits and vegetables. According to Derreck Bac, who works for Springfresh, getting the certificate was requested upon by his clients: “I completely stand by what PlanetProof stands for, so there is nothing wrong with the certificate itself. However, it was mostly a request from our regular clients. I feel that in this day and age it’s almost a requirement to ensure cultivation is done in a way that doesn’t harm our planet.”
The PlanetProof certificate is all about fighting climate change. Getting the certificate was not very easy, as there are a lot of aspects to it. “I honestly couldn’t even tell you how long it took. At one point we decided to go for it, but the plan was put on the shelves for a while. From making the decision to receiving the certificate, one can be sure it will take at least six months. We’re very happy this process is behind us, with the PlanetProof certificate in hand.” Bac concluded.
