Current banana prices in the production areas of Yunnan are stable at 2.5 - 4.1 yuan/kg. In most parts of Yunnan, the volume was reduced by weather events earlier in the season. Some growing centers even saw production halving, so there’s no significant fluctuation in prices.
In Hekou, rainfall lasted throughout the night and there weren’t workers available to carry bananas during the day, so it was impossible to harvest bananas for shipment. As there are fewer workers in Vietnam and fewer shipments, banana prices remain stable. There are not many active traders in Yuxi; they in general purchase on demand and sell to the market instead of stockpiling. Many traders are waiting to see what is going to happen next, so the volume of orders is small and the market isn’t experiencing noteworthy fluctuations.
