The Spanish Guardia Civil is investigating two men, 35 and 26 years old, and a minor, for their alleged implication in the repeated theft of a total of 20,000 kilos of melons. The fruit came from an agricultural farm based in the Toledo town of Tembleque, where one of the suspects works.
The investigation, which started as soon as the owner of the growing company denounced the situation to the Guardia Civil on August 28, revealed that the theft was committed at night by three people. One of them, the 35-year-old man, worked at the growing company in question and passed on information to the other two, instructing them to drive a vehicle there and load the goods.
The proceedings have been made available to the Court of First Instance and Instruction of Ocaña, in Toledo.
