According to data provided by the Agrodata Peru website, during the first eight months of this year, Peru has exported 17,557,305 kilos of tangelos for a FOB value of US $14,014,561. This is slightly lower than the 18,990,507 kilos exported in the same period of 2018 for a value then of $ 14,743,708.
The main destination of this Peruvian citrus, a hybrid between mandarin and grapefruit, between January and August 2019 was the Netherlands, where sales of 5.3 million dollars were achieved. It was followed by the United States with 4 million dollars, the United Kingdom with 1.07 million dollars, China with 1.04 million, and Canada with 558,000 dollars.
The main exporting companies in the aforementioned period were Procesadora Laran SAC with sales for $ 4,686,498, Consorcio de Productores de Fruta SA with $2,369,022, Compañia de Exportacion y Negocios Generales SA with $ 2,358,046, Compañia Agroindustrial Santa Fe de Lanchas SAC with $ 915,165, Sociedad Agricola Yolanda Patricia SAC with $ 852,855, Asesorias e Inversiones Muva SAC with $797,031, Agricola Andrea SAC with $ 753,581, Sterling Peru SAC with $604,121, and Casa Chica SAC with $238,070, among other companies with smaller amounts.
