FEPEX has launched a series of measures to facilitate the recovery of its associates, who have suffered severe damages due to the floods caused by storms in southeastern Spain. The damages, which are being evaluated and which affect both fruit and vegetable crops and facilities, could have serious social and economic consequences for the production areas.
The list of measures includes the establishment of a framework of solidarity and cooperation between the companies affected, which will allow those who have suffered flooding in the warehouses to use the facilities of those who have unused cold storage and handling capacity, thus protecting the position of all operators in the supply chain. It was also agreed to suspend the payment of the membership fees for those affected.
FEPEX believes that a specific action plan will be required, in line with the extent of the losses suffered, which are now being evaluated.
