On Wednesday, September 11, the first generic promotion campaign for European fruits and vegetables, promoted jointly by national associations of the sector, has been presented at the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels. It is called "CuTE: Cultivating the taste of Europe” and has been backed by national associations from Spain, France, Poland and Greece.
Together with Spanish MEP Clara Aguilera, the campaign has been presented by the heads of Fruit Vegetables EUROPE, EUCOFEL, promoter of this initiative, led by president Juan Marín; by the member organizations of this association, including FEPEX, represented by president Jorge Brotóns; as well as by the associations that are taking part in the campaign: Aproa (Almería), Tomates et Concombre de France and AOP Fraises de France, and the National Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producer Organizations of Poland, KZGPOiW. Greeke producers have also been represented by the association Incofrut-Hellas.
The EUROTOUR, a mobile greenhouse that will depart from Brussels and travel through different European cities to showcase the sustainable model of European production, has also been presented at the press conference.
"CuTE" is the first European campaign designed to provide information and promote European fruits and vegetables. It has been designed by European producers and the EU with the goal of increasing our knowledge about specific agricultural production methods (greenhouse and open ground) and their characteristics (variety, quality and taste) in the domestic market.
Fruit Vegetables EUROPE (EUCOFEL) is the European Fruit and Vegetable Association that defends, represents and promotes European fruits and vegetables. Its members are national and regional associations (mainly producer organizations and associations) and companies from the main EU fruit and vegetable producing countries (France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain).
