New watermelon pouch launched

Maglio Companies has launched a new package to ship cut watermelons, with the aim to make them last longer. Maglio says the ReadyRipe™ watermelon pouches are a grab-and-go bag, with graphics, bright colors, and handle, while promising no wicking or leaking.

The company added that ReadyRipe™ packaging has patented technology that regulates oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapor transmission rates. The natural respiration of the melon creates an enhanced atmospheric environment, resulting in the quartered sliced watermelon staying fresh for an extended period of time, it said.

Maglio has also designed the ReadyRipe™ corrugated Retail Shipper Unit – also with "high graphics, informative verbiage to the consumer, easily assembled and attaches directly to the watermelon bin".
