Upcoming holidays in China may push up banana prices in September

Recently, banana prices in the production areas have been fluctuating, rising at first and then falling, but have gradually stabilized.

At first, with the Mid-Autumn Festival in sight, production areas were optimistic about prices in the coming days, and some remote consumer markets, such as regions in the North, were preparing for the Mid-Autumn Festival. As a result, prices in the production areas, especially in Guangxi, the only production area able to ship large volumes, started to rise.

However, due to high price levels, the market was under pressure from large supplies at a later period, and there were still many types of fruits in the market. Therefore, it was difficult to raise prices in the consumer market. Traders adopted a more cautious approach and avoided ordering large volumes. Prices in production areas were lowered for a few days.

After the adjustment, current prices are relatively balanced for both the production areas and the consumer market, and the overall situation is stable. With the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day approach approaching, there is still demand for stockpiling, and overall prices in production areas are expected to remain positive or even rise again, with the possibility of slight rises or falls. This is because the overall price is already at a high level, so the probability of large increases is not high.
