“We are a diverse group of experts of different nationalities, with a broad range of knowledge on legislation and the requirements for import and export” – this explains the success of the Dutch company Partners Network, according to Michel Hoogendoorn.
Having entered the market only eight years ago, the company is relatively new. However, their track record shows that they have experienced some exponential growth in the eight years they have been operating. Hoogendoorn says: “We received the FD Gazelle Award for fastest growing company in the middle and eastern parts of the Netherlands three years in a row. We started from nothing eight years ago and today we have grown into a worldwide operating business.”
Partners Network is a global distributor who work with and manage a large variety of products. Hoogendoorn explains that their subdivision PN Fruit operates under the umbrella of Partners Network: “the Fruit division has proven to be able to connect the supply and demand in basically any country in the world. We work with global, premium-brand growers and suppliers and have offices located all throughout the world. Because of this, the company has enough knowledge support to buy and sell the right products with the highest quality. Our extensive global presence alerts us to the pitfalls, chances and opportunities in the markets. Through this, we can reduce our risks and keep the performance on a consistently high level.”
Though the company is proud of the diversity of the products they work with, they have some products they work with more than others. “One of our specialties is bananas” says Hoogendoorn, “we have been acting as the official agent for Chiquita bananas in the CIS countries since 2011. On top of that, we also export private label premium bananas, such as Nikki Bananas.”
The company is also a licensed supplier for Dutch products. Hoogendoorn states: “We are working together with growers to expand our certifications in the Netherlands. Currently, we are able to offer a wide range of peppers, specifically bell-peppers and Vitapep snack-peppers, but we are working on expanding our offer to include many more fruits and vegetables. We are currently in the process of acquiring certification for apples originating the Netherlands and as of September 2019 we will also start exporting Conference Pears. The pears will be available in any size and packaging, which will be attractive for many of our buyers.”
Having won three consecutive awards for their fast expansion, the company is looking to spread their reach even further: “Our main focus for the coming years will be Asia, and specifically China. Working together with some logistics colleagues from SORS Logistics and PanAsia Qingdao allowed our company to establish ties in the area. We have developed a strong partnership with a major retailer in China who accounts for over 670 retail outlets in the Shandon province. This is a very successful strategy and because of this we have seen a sustainable growth in the fruits that we supply, such as pineapples, bananas, cherries, grapes, citrus, apples and pears, from a variety of origins.”
Hoogendoorn concludes: “We are a company that is devoted to thinking outside the box to create solutions for any challenge that might occur. We like to be one step ahead at all times, and this means taking in account calculated risks in order to get the job done. We have many years’ experience in the international market and act as pioneers in various fields and that is why Partner Network adds value to the chain.”
