7th China Agricultural Product Supply Chain Summit to take place in Yantai

Total retail sales for fresh products in China reached 4.93 trillion yuan in 2018 and are expected to reach 5.13 trillion yuan in 2019. Fresh products are a category with rigid demand, high consumption frequency, low unit price, and a large variety, but they are also easily damaged and their shelf lives are short. Attracted to the huge market, influenced by the upgraded consumption power, assisted by the internet sector, and driven by capital, various forms of business continue to emerge, to compete for revenues, intensifying the competition within the fresh retail industry. This sector has seen the evolution of various business models and has now entered the phase where community distribution centers, shop-to-doorstep delivery, and community group purchases, constitute the most prominent business models.

At the moment, these three new retail models share the retail market by attracting and targeting different customer groups, but where will the new retail sector end up in the future?

The Cold Chain Logistics Committee of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing will host the 7th China Agricultural Product Supply Chain Summit and the 2019 Fresh Retail Supply Chain Forum in Yantai, Shandong on September 4-6, 2019, where high-level personnel from Hema Fresh, Niwoning, Yixianzhaipei, China Resources Vanguard, BBK, Shanghai Lianhua Supermarket, Meiyijia, Yipien, Shixianghui, Tianxia Xinnong, and other companies are invited to discuss around the topic of “shifts and upgrades of retail business forms”.
