Viva Tierra Organic, Inc. has introduced a new line of retail packaging for California grown certified organic apples and pears. According to the company, the new packaging aims to convey to consumers the pride that VTO’s organic growers and packers take in the organic fruit grown and harvested in the golden state.
There are six new, zip-top stand up pouch packages now available. They are Organic California Gala, Organic California Apple, and Organic California Pear, each of which is available in both 2 and 3 lb. weights. Additionally, the company has new California specific boxes which will be used to pack the pouches in either 12/3lb or 18/2lb configurations. A 12/2lb pack is also available.
Viva Tierra Organic says initial reception to the new packaging has been very positive. “California retail produce managers are very excited about highlighting the ‘local’ aspect of the new packaging,” said Roy Ruff, VTO’s Regional Marketing Lead. “Currently we’re packing Organic Gala and Bartletts and will follow with Granny, Braeburn, Fuji, Bosc and finally Cripps Pink as the California season progresses.”
