Fruit and veg prices in India stabilise after rising for a week

After seeing the prices of various fruits and vegetables rise out of control over the past week, the prices in the local markets of India have stabilised on Wednesday. The supply of vegetables is also slowly getting back to normal, although not all vegetables are fresh, says vegetable vendor Jaffar Mokashi.

"Many vegetables are drenched in rainwater and thus they soften by the time they reach Goa. We are forced to discard them. The situation will be like this until the monsoon season ends," Mokashi said.
