Located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province, Xiangxi is the largest citrus and kiwifruit growing center in China. It has a large ratio of mountainous areas, belongs to the subtropical mountain monsoon climate, shows clear signs of the continental climate, and has four distinct seasons, abundant sunshine and rainfall, which are all ideal for growing kiwifruit.
“This year, green kiwifruit from Xiangxi, Hunan will become available in mid-August. The production season is expected to last one month and finish in mid-September. Compared with last year, the production this season has increased. This is due to the improvement of planting techniques and a deepening awareness of responsible growing among fruit growers. This year is also an on-year, so the volume of fruits in the trees has increased sharply.” Zhang, a fruit grower and distributor from Hunan shared.
“We formed a partnership with local agricultural cooperatives, growing green kiwifruit on over a thousand mu, which guarantees a stable supply. Our fruit is mainly sold to wholesale markets and supermarkets in first- and second-tier cities across China via traditional sales channels and e-commerce platforms. For this, we also offer drop-shipping services. I am positive about the upcoming new season. With its unique taste and stable supply, I believe that our kiwifruit will be very popular."
