In the Swiss dessert apple stores, there are still 6,419 tons available at this time, so bringing the remaining varieties onto the market is challenging. In the organic sector only 159 tons are left.
The largest share is accounted for by Golden Delicious (2,434 t, 38%), followed by Jonagold (933 t, 14.5%), Swisscofel and the Swiss Fruit Association (SOV) wrote in their current stock commentary. The remaining goods are of good quality.
Imports to a lesser extent
At the end of July, 159 tonnes of Golden Delicous, Idared and Maigold were still in stock for organic dessert apples. In order to have sufficient quantities of the high-selling varieties, some imports of bud apples were made, Bio Suisse and Swisscofel stated. However, these are imported to a lesser extent than in previous years.
