Importer expands citrus line with Cara Cara oranges

LGS Specialty Sales, Ltd. (LGS) has expanded its Darling Citrus line with the addition of seasonal Chilean Cara Cara oranges, available August through mid to late September.

“We are so excited to be adding Cara Caras to our Darling Citrus line,” said Luke Sears, president and founder of LGS Specialty Sales. “Growing our Darling line has been a great accomplishment for LGS and we are excited to continue supplying the U.S. with fresh, flavorful citrus grown in select regions across the world.”

This year, Cara Cara oranges are joining the Darling Citrus line during its summer citrus program. LGS Specialty Sales said it provides citrus to the U.S. year-round by sourcing from growers all around the world. For instance, Chile provides clementines, oranges and lemons from early summer to late fall while Argentina produces lemons from early spring through late summer.

“The Darling line is successful because of the select growers we partner with,” added Sears. “Our summer citrus growers have provided us with excellent quality and volume for the summer and we are excited to now offer our customers an even greater variety with the Darling Cara Caras.”

The company has also changed its social media handles from @DarlingClementines to @DarlingCitrus, saying that this streamlines messaging across the brand.
