SmartFresh expands its portfolio in Greece

The post-harvest technology SmartFresh™ received approval for a wide range of summer crops for the Greek market. Fresh produce suppliers will now have an additional tool to provide more high-quality peach, nectarine, apricots and melons to the consumers. Persimmon crop completes the list.

Melons are indeed highly perishable produce representing important challenges for the supply chain. The post-harvest technology SmartFresh™ protects them from the negative effects of ethylene and maintains the just harvested quality. Significant difference in pulp firmness, peel appearance and overall freshness was demonstrated on melons in customer trials using SmartFresh™ compared to control ones.

With SmartFresh™ technology, stone fruit packers gain the ability to reduce internal browning, extend firmness and safeguard quality at every stage—while also gaining new flexibility to ship to distant markets and maintain quality during production peaks or at the end of harvest windows.

SmartFresh™ SmartTabs and ProTabs, two different modes of delivery for SmartFresh™ technology, provide convenient ways to apply it in existing storage rooms or in-transit situations.

SmartFresh is also registered in Greece for use on crops such as apples & pears, plums, kiwifruit, tomatoes and bananas
