Maap, Mercato agroalimentare di Padova, is making available to its buyers and new clients controlled temperature platforms, packaging areas, a fleet for the transport of produce and the latest management software to reduce idle times.
"A new platform will be ready by April 2020. It will cover 3000 sq m and will be air-conditioned so as to maintain the cold chain. It is essential for wholesalers, clients and final consumers. In addition, we will build another 1000 sq m air-conditioned storage facility in 2020," explains Maap director Francesco Cera.
What is more, Maap offers a series of services that only few facilities in Italy can guarantee, such as an air-conditioned area to package the produce.
"Another service offered by Maap is transport. We have a fleet of 14 refrigerated trucks that guarantees deliveries everywhere, even abroad. Maap has always been looking at the foreign market thanks to the professionalism of our wholesalers. Our main destinations are between Austria and Eastern Europe."

The data processing center of the Padua facility boasts a management software that connects all companies so as to generate a single invoicing code and speed up bureaucracy. Some wholesalers do not even use pen and paper anymore, as they can monitor the warehouse, stocks and sales in real time through their smartphones.
"Our facility has a more traditional side which opens up at 3 am and a more modern one with platforms and services available almost 24-7."
