New biodegradable packaging solution for Agriblea

Agriblea, a company specializing in the production of sundried organic Ciappa tomatoes has introduced a new biodegradable packaging solution.

The company has been working on the new biodegradable packet for the past two years. "We needed a new solution to extend the shelf-life of the product so as to supply consumers with tomatoes of an excellent quality."

As regards the bag, the material is made up of organic and fossil biodegradable polymers and the ink is water-based.

Agriblea uses the traditional method to dry its tomatoes, in compliance with the Pat standard in Sicily. This year, the company has also introduced the ciappa soft variant, i.e. a soft sundried tomato that is quick and easy to use. You can find recipes at www.pomodorisecchi.com.

The Agosta family has always cared a lot about environmental sustainability, trying to keep waste and pollution to a minimum.

In 2001, the company turned to organic agriculture and, over time, it has striven to find eco-friendly solutions standing out from the competition and focusing on creating a chain with the lowest possible environmental impact.

It obtained the strict Biosuisse certification in 2004 and, in 2015, it started using biodegradable materials. In addition, it decided to adhere to the Demeter scheme - a biodynamic method according to which agriculture is in harmony with nature, the earth and men.

"Our motto is: from the field to the table of consumers with an ethical, green and organic spirit."
