Harvesting too quickly could cause prices to fall

ASAJA Salamanca asks for the staggering of the potato harvest not to be ignored

The agrarian organization ASAJA Salamanca has issued a statement asking potato producers not to speed up the harvesting tasks, even though prices are favorable at present.

The organization has explained that if the normal cycles were ignored, prices would fall, to the detriment of the growers, so ASAJA recommends the usual staggered rate to be maintained.

"This could be a good campaign for Salamanca's potato growers and, therefore, for those of Castile-Leon, given last year's shortages in Europe, which allowed Spain to become one of the biggest suppliers, with competitive prices," said ASAJA.
